Getting Ready for a Facelift

One of the easiest ways to see how a person’s age is by looking at the skin on their face. As we grow older, that skin loses its ability to stretch and look “young.” It may even start to sag in some places and cause your face to look more like a rectangle than you’d like. That’s not to mention the crow’s feet and worry lines, either!

So how do you go about fixing that issue? Well, a facelift is the key procedure that Dr. Oliver P. Simmons here at Simmons Plastic Surgery in Lexington, South Carolina, recommends. Let’s see how you can get ready for a facelift as well as what the procedure entails.

Preparing for a facelift

First off, you’ll need to meet with Dr. Oliver P. Simmons to get a medical evaluation to ensure you’re healthy enough for the procedure. After that’s completed, you will need to stop taking any type of anti-inflammatory drug before the surgery as those increase bleeding.

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and your doctor will work off a plan of how you want your face to look that you both developed. It’s important to keep realistic expectations in mind, and you’ll also need someone to drive you to and from the surgery.

Recovery time varies and you’ll be given strict post-op instructions to follow.
